Running

01General Terms

• The 10 KM and 5 KM Running Races shall be held on Friday 27/02/2026.
• All citizens and residents from inside the State and citizens of GCC countries shall be allowed to participate in the categories specified below.
• The participant shall be medically fit on his/her own responsibility, registering on the race will be considered as a personal declaration to that effect and shall respect the regulations of the Competition.
• Participation in the running championship is considered individual participation, and it is prohibited to publicize the names of institutions or any other parties at the awarding ceremony.
• Participants aged 17 years old and below should submit parental approvement.
• Reference shall be made to regulations of the UAE Athletics Federation in organizing this competition in exception with what is included herein.

02Special Terms

• Each participant must commit to participate within the category in which he is registered, as follows:

• Commitment to having clear chest numbers.
• Commitment to wearing appropriate running shoes during the competition.

03The 10 KM Categories

• Open Category/ Men: Participation is allowed for all man members of the community, including citizens, residents, and GCC nationals.
• Open Category/ Women: Participation is allowed for all woman members of the community, including citizens, residents, and GCC nationals.

04The 5 KM Categories

• Emirati / Male Category: Only Emirati nationals are allowed to participate.
• Emirati / Female Category: only Emirati women are allowed to participate.
• Open Category/Men: Residents and GCC nationals are allowed to participate only.
• Open Category/ Women: Female residents and GCC nationals are allowed to participate only.
• Senior / Men: it is allowed for UAE Nationality and resident Seniors aged 50 years old and above (Born in 1976 and below) to participate.
• Senior / Women: it is allowed for UAE Nationality and resident Seniors aged 48 years old and above (Born in 1978 and below) to participate.

05The Youngsters 4 KM Race Categories

• Open Category/Youth-Boys: it is allowed for UAE Nationality and resident age from 13 and 14 years old (Born in 2012 and 2013).
• Open Category/Youth-Girls: it is allowed for UAE Nationality and resident age from 13 and 14 years old (Born in 2012 and 2013).
• Open Category/ Junior -Boys: it is allowed for UAE Nationality and resident age from 11 and 12 years old (Born in 2014 and 2015).
• Open Category/ Junior - Girls: it is allowed for UAE Nationality and resident ages from 11 and 12 years old (Born in 2014 and 2015).

06Location and Timing of the Races

• The 5 KM Race will start at 10:00 p.m. and the 10 KM Race at 10:45 p.m.
• The Race will be organized in the Meydan Racecourse.
• The race shall begin in the form of groups with interval timing.
• Participants shall be at the starting point by 9:15 p.m. as all the roads leading to the starting point shall be closed after this time.

07Results and Awards

• The winning racer shall be the one who crosses the finish line first and no violation is registered against him/her.
• The first three players shall be awarded (gold, silver, and bronze) medals in all categories.
• Cash prizes (in AED) shall be awarded to the winners.

08Registration

• Registration opens from 8/12/2025 to 20/02/2026.
• All Participants must submit their Emirates ID when they collect chest numbers, (for Expats the residence VISA must valid).
• The chest and chip numbers shall be delivered in Dubai Bike (DXBIKE) as follows table, noting that they shall not be delivered on the race day:

09Complaints

• Complaints shall be submitted in written to the Chairman of the Referees Committee no later than 15 minutes after the end of the race and according to the prescribed form.
• Complaints shall not be accepted unless they are presented with an amount of AED (300) which shall be refunded in case of acceptance of the Complaint and shall be submitted to the Organizing Committee in case of rejection.
• The Technical Committee alone shall be entitled to interpret and explain the regulations and laws and take the appropriate decisions, and in all cases, these decisions shall be final.
