Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament (NAS) 2026
General Terms
- 1. The Wheelchair Basketball Competition shall be held in the period from 24 / 2 – 4/3/2026.
- 2. The date for the technical meeting and the drawing date is Friday 13/2/2026.
- 3. 10 teams shall be registered in the competition and shall be distributed to two groups according to the draw.
- 4. All citizens and residents only.
- 5. The participant player shall be medically fit on his own responsibility, along with his signature on the personal declaration to that effect.
- 6. The Technical Committee of the Competition may take all decisions and actions that will regulate the competition according to the desired way, including amendments to the match’s schedule.
Special Terms:
- 1. Participants shall be at least 16 years old and above (Born in 2010 and below).
- 2. Each team has the right to register a preliminary list of 4 players with disabilities and 6 players without disabilities.
- 3. The team manager shall submit a list of 8 players (4 with disabilities and 4 without disabilities) before each match.
- 4. The number of people with disabilities participating in the team lineup during matches shall not exceed 3 players.
- 5. When players without disabilities participate, they must be employees of the participating institution. Only one player from outside the institution may be used if he is a resident of the country and is not allowed to be replaced during the tournament.
- 6. Players with disabilities are classified into three categories by the organizing committee according to the technical and skill levels of the players, which are (first category - second category - third category).
- 7. Negotiations with only one player with disabilities in the first category are conducted directly by each institution.
- 8. The remaining players from the second and third categories are distributed by lot to the participating teams in the presence of representatives of the authorities.
- 9. The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation regulations shall be referred to in the arbitration and management of all tournament matches, except for what is stated in these regulations.
Competition System:
- 1. The first round of the competition shall be held according to one-round league, distributing the teams to two groups (A and B) of 5 teams per group. The second round shall be held according to the knockout system, and the first and second from each group shall qualify to play in the semifinals.
- 2. The First of Group (A) shall play against the Second of Group (B), and the First of Group (B) shall play against the Second of Group (A). The two winning teams shall play for the First and Second places, and the two losing teams shall play for the Third and Fourth places.
- 3. The game shall consist of two halves of 10 minutes for each half, with a break for 5 minutes.
- 4. The matches determine the first three places (gold - silver - bronze) consisting of four rounds, with each round playing for 10 minutes.
Location and Timing of the Competition:
- 1. The Qualifying stage shall be organized in Dubai Club for People of determination, and the finalists shall be held in Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
- 2. The Technical Committee shall announce the schedule of matches after the draw.
- 3. Teams shall be on the field before the game for 20 minutes.
- 4. The team shall be considered losing (20/0) of the match in case of failure to be on the field for (10) minutes from starting time of the match.
Results and Awards:
- 1. The first three teams shall be awarded (gold, silver, and bronze).
- 2. Cash prizes shall be awarded to the first three places.
- 3. A cup shall be awarded to the best scorer in the competition for the non-People of determination.
- 4. A prize shall be awarded to the best scorer in the competition for the People of Determination.
Registration:
- 1. Registration opens from 15/01/2026 to 10/02/2026.
- 2. All participants must bring their original Emirates ID, and for residents, the residence must be valid.
- 3. All participants shall sign a statement on health and physical fitness and shall agree to the conditions of participation and respect the regulations of the competition.
- 4. Teams must provide two sets of uniforms, one light and one dark, bearing the (NAS) logo, and the position of the logos must be adhered to as shown below.
- 5. For any enquiries regarding registration with the Wheelchair Basketball Competition:
Complaints:
- 1. Complaints shall be submitted in written to the Chairman of the Referees Committee no later than (15) minutes after the end of the match and according to the prescribed form.
- 2. Complaints shall not be accepted unless they are presented with an amount of AED (500), which shall be refunded in case of acceptance of the Complaint and shall be submitted to the Organizing Committee in case of rejection.
- 3. The Technical Committee alone shall be entitled to interpret and explain the regulations and laws and take the appropriate decisions, and in all cases, these decisions shall be final.
