In 2016, the NAS Sports Tournament, for the fourth consecutive year, include a spectacular 75km Road Race. This is a medium-distance road race that takes place from the Falcon Heritage Center near Meydan Hotel and will run along the front of the Hotel on Meydan Road with 7 laps finishing at The Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.

The event takes place on 16- 17 June (Thursday and Friday) at 10.15pm. The race will have four categories in total and will start in 2 waves in the first day - Social Emirati Male and Female Race. Second day – Men’s Race and Hand Bikes. The starts will be in 1 - 2 minute interval between waves.

The roads will be completely closed for the race from 9.30pm, so the contestants are requested to reach the starting point before 9.30pm avoid any delay and disappointment at being excluded from the event.

NB: NO TT BARS or Mountain Bikes permitted (MTB) this is a Road Bike Race. Cyclist will be disqualified and not allowed to race should their bikes infringe on these specifications (these conditions are for the safety of all riders and specified by the UAE Cycling Federation and the NAS Sports Tournament Higher Committee).

This event is not for professional cyclist’s (A person that’s paid to Ride or Race). If you are a professional Cyclist you are not eligible for this event

Please note that Car parking is available close to the START BUT any late arrivals will have to park the Cycle Track at Mohammed bin Rashid City District One Cycle Track and make their way across from there. For Families and friends who want to watch the finish, Parking will also be available at the NAS sports Complex with Grandstand Big Screen, live viewing and refreshments available for purchase.

  • Race packs will be issued during dates 13th ,14th June 2016 from 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM at Falcon Heritage Center near Meydan Hotel .
  • Registration will close at 12pm on Wednesday 6th June 2016. The contestant must bring original emirates ID and passport copy with valid visa for minimum six months when collecting numbers and e-chips. (Please attach previous visa copy if it is recently changed or renewed).
  • No Race packs will be issued on the Race day.
  • The participants are requested to only return to the start point after the Award Ceremony has completed and once the road is clear.
  • Teams registration for Social Emirati Male will be opened on 22 – 05 - 2016.
