75 KM for Adults and 10 KM for Juniors Cycling Competition Regulation

Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament (NAS) 2019

General Terms:
  • All amateur citizens and residents, citizen and resident clubs' players who participate in official races within and outside the State shall be allowed to participate according to the contest categories described below.
  • Use of (TT) Bars bicycles and mountain bikes (MTB) or use of the bikes for time trial cycling shall not be allowed, and the violating cyclist shall be excluded.
  • The participant player shall be medically fit on his/her own responsibility, along with his/her signature on the personal declaration to that effect.
  • All Minors are required to have the signature of their legal guardian
  • The Competition shall be organized in accordance with the regulations of UAE Cycling Federation, in exception with what is included herein.
Special Terms:
  • The race shall be held at a distance of 75 KM for Adults category.
  • The race shall be held at a distance of 10 KM for Juniors category.
  • Each participant shall be committed to participate only in the category s/he is registered in.
  • Commitment to having clear numbers on the back and thigh.
  • Commitment to decent outfit for bicycles during competition along with wearing a helmet.
  • All competitors shall be fully aware of the rules and regulations of the bikes racing rules and the race route, taking responsibility for the errors they might commit and the damage that may result to either themselves, their bikes, or other participants.
  • All competitors shall abide by the right side of the road in case they are delayed and caught up with by other competitors. Non-compliance will lead to disqualification.
Competition Categories:
  • Adult Categories:
    • Open Category/Men: Resident, Citizen clubs' players and national teams' players who participate in official races within and outside the State shall be allowed to participate in this category.
    • Open Category/Women: Female Resident, Citizen clubs' players and national teams' players who participate in official races within and outside the State shall be allowed to participate in this category.
    • Amateurs/ UAE National Men: Male UAE National amateur players who do not belong to clubs and do not own official biker card issued by UAE Cycling Federation that state the competitor’s registered in one of the State clubs shall be allowed to participate.
    • Amateurs/ UAE National Women: Female UAE National amateur players who do not belong to clubs and do not own official biker card issued by UAE Cycling Federation that state the competitor’s registered in one of the State clubs shall be allowed to participate.
    • People of Determination Category: The citizens and residents of People of determination shall be allowed to participate using the following bicycles:
      • A. Road BicyclesOne (Normal Bikes that can be used by People of Determination).
      • B. Hand Bicycles (Bikes that are used only by hand).
    • Junior (Born 2006 & 2007 & 2008)
      • Open Category/Boys: Resident, Citizen clubs' players and national teams' players shall be allowed to participate in this category.
      • Open Category/Girls: Resident, Citizen clubs' players and national teams' players shall be allowed to participate in this category.
      • UAE National/ Boys: UAE National participant who do not belong to clubs shall be allowed to participate.
      • UAE National/ Girls: UAE National participant who do not belong to clubs shall be allowed to participate.
Location and Timing of the Races:
  • The Cycling Contest shall be held as following below
    • Open Category/Men, People of determination Category and Junior on Friday 17/5/2019.
    • Amateurs/ UAE National Men, Amateurs/ UAE National Women and Open Category/Women on Saturday 18/5/2019.
  • The race begins promptly at 10:00 p.m. It will start and finish from Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
  • The race shall begin in the form of groups with an interval of two minutes at maximum.
  • Participants shall be in the start point by 9:30 p.m. as all the roads leading to the starting point shall be closed after this time.
Results and Awards:
  • The winning competitors shall be the one who crosses the finish line first and no violation is registered against him/her.
  • The first three players shall be awarded (gold, silver, and bronze) medals in all categories.
  • Cash prizes shall be awarded to the winners.
Registration:
  • Registration opens on 25/03/2019 to 11/05/2019.
  • All Participants must bring their original Emirates ID (for Expats the residence VISA must have been issued before 1/1/2019) upon receipt of the chest and chip numbers for the race.
  • The chest and chip numbers shall be delivered in the Dubai Bike (DXBIKE) from 14 - 16/05/2019 from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m., no Chip or Race number will be hander over on the race day.
  • Participants shall not be allowed to change the category of the race after the deadline.
  • All participants shall sign a statement of health and physical fitness and shall agree to the conditions of participation and respect to the regulations of the Competition.

Complaints:
  • Complaints shall be submitted in written to the Chairman of the Referees Committee no later than 15 minutes after the end of the race and according to the prescribed form.
  • Complaints shall not be accepted unless they are presented with an amount of AED (300) which shall be refunded in case of acceptance of the Complaint, and shall be submitted to the Organizing Committee in case of rejection.
  • The Technical Committee alone shall be entitled to interpret and explain the regulations and laws and take the appropriate decisions, and in all cases, these decisions shall be final.
