Cycling Competition Regulation

Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament (NAS) 2024

General Terms:
  • 1. All amateur citizens and residents, citizen and resident clubs' players who participate in official races within and outside the State shall be allowed to participate according to the contest categories described below.
  • 2. Use of time trial (TT) Bars bicycles, mountain bikes, Hybrid bicycle, (BMX) bikes or electric bikes shall not be allowed, and the violating cyclist shall be excluded.
  • 3. The participant shall be medically fit on his/her own responsibility, registering on the race will be considered as personal declaration to that effect.
  • 4. Participation is allowed for 19 years old and above (Born in 2005 and below).
  • 5. Participation in the Cycling championship is considered an individual participation, and it is prohibited to publicize the names of institutions or any other parties at the awarding ceremony.
  • 6. The Competition shall be organized in accordance with the regulations of UAE Cycling Federation, in exception with what is included herein.
Special Terms:
  • 1. The race shall be held at 74 KM and 18 KM for People of Determination.
  • 2. Commitment to having clear numbers on the back and bikes, and for People of determination on the thigh.
  • 3. Commitment to decent outfit during competition along with wearing a helmet and unified outfit for team members.
  • 4. All competitors shall be fully aware of the rules and regulations of the bikes racing rules and the race route, taking responsibility for the errors they might commit and the damage that may result to either themselves, their bikes, or other participants.
  • 5. All competitors shall abide by the right side of the road in case they are delayed and caught up with by other competitors. Non-compliance will lead to disqualification.
  • 6. It is not permitted for participants that have previously participated with Sports Clubs, National Teams, Private Teams &/or Clubs, Police Force, Armed Forces &/or Civil Defense teams to register in the Community / UAE National category, unless five years have passed since the last participation.
Races
  • Open Category/Men: Players of government clubs, national teams, players of private clubs and teams who participate in the federation competitions, residents, and GCC nationals who are not residents of the country are allowed to participate in this category.
  • Open Category/Women: Female Players from government clubs, national teams, female players of private clubs and teams who participate in the federation competitions, female residents, and female GCC nationals who are not residents of the country are allowed to participate in this category.
  • Amateurs/ UAE National Men: it is allowed for amateur male UAE nationalities who registered with private teams and clubs, individual players participating in the federation's competitions, and individual players participating in official competitions qualifying for the World Championship (Grand Fundo).
  • Amateurs/ UAE National Women: it is allowed for amateur female UAE nationalities who registered with private teams and clubs, individual players participating in the federation's competitions, and individual players participating in official competitions qualifying for the World Championship (Grand Fundo).
  • Community /UAE National Men: it is allowed for Amateur UAE Nationalities, excluding Players from National Teams, Clubs, Police, Armed Forces, Civil Defense, and private clubs & teams.
  • Community /UAE National Women: it is allowed for Amateur UAE Nationalities excluding Players from National Teams, Clubs, Police, Armed Forces, Civil Defense, and private clubs & teams.
  • Senior / Men: it is allowed for Seniors (UAE Nationality and resident) aged 50 years old and above (Born in 1974 and below) to participate.
  • Senior / Women: it is allowed for Seniors (UAE Nationality and resident) aged 50 years old and above (Born in 1974 and below) to participate.
  • People of Determination Category: The citizens and residents of People of determination shall be allowed to participate using the following bicycles:
    • A. Road Bicycles - C Category (Normal Bikes that can be used by People of Determination).
    • B. Hand Bicycles - H Category . (Bikes that are used only by hand).
    • C. Blind – T & B Category. (Twin Bikes that are used by Blind).

  • 2. Participants shall be at the Village Race (Exit Meydan Road Toward Medan Hotel) by 9:00 p.m. as all the roads leading to the starting point shall be closed after this time.
Results and Awards:
  • 1. The winning competitor shall be the one who crosses the finish line first and no violation is registered against him/her.
  • 2. The first three players shall be awarded (gold, silver, and bronze) medals in all categories.
  • 3. Cash prizes (in AED) shall be awarded to the winners.
Registration:
  • 1. Registration opens from 1/02/2024 to 18/03/2024.
  • 2. All Participants must bring their original Emirates ID (for Expats the residence VISA must valid) and submit it to the organizing committee.
  • 3. The participation’ number shall be delivered in Dubai Bike (DXBIKE) as following table, noting that they shall not be delivered on the race day:

  • 4. Participants shall not be allowed to change the category of the race after the deadline.
  • 5. All participants shall sign a statement of health and physical fitness and shall agree to the conditions of participation and respect to the regulations of the Competition.
  • 6. For any enquires regarding registration with the Cycling Competition:
Complaints:
  • 1. Complaints shall be submitted in written to the Chairman of the Referees Committee no later than 15 minutes after the end of the race and according to the prescribed form.
  • 2. Complaints shall not be accepted unless they are presented with an amount of AED (300) which shall be refunded in case of acceptance of the Complaint and shall be submitted to the Organizing Committee in case of rejection.
  • 3. The Technical Committee alone shall be entitled to interpret and explain the regulations and laws and take the appropriate decisions, and in all cases, these decisions shall be final.
