Cycling Competition Regulation

Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament (NAS) 2025

General Terms:

All amateur citizens and residents, citizen and resident clubs' players who participate in official races within and outside the State shall be allowed to participate according to the contest categories described below.
Use of time trial (TT) Bars bicycles, mountain bikes, hybrid bicycles, (BMX) bikes, or electric bikes shall not be allowed, and the violating cyclists shall be excluded.
The participant shall be medically fit on his/her own responsibility, registering for the race will be considered as personal declaration to that effect.
Participation is allowed for 19 years old and above (Born in 2006 and below).
Participation in the Cycling championship is considered an individual participation, and it is prohibited to publicize the names of institutions or any other parties at the awarding ceremony.
The competition shall be organized in accordance with the regulations of UAE Cycling Federation, in exception to what is included herein.

Special Terms:

The race shall be held at 74 KM and 18 KM for People of Determination.
Commitment to having clear numbers on the back and bikes, and for People of determination on the thigh.
Commitment to decent outfit during competition along with wearing a helmet.
All competitors should be fully aware of the rules and regulations of the bikes racing rules and the race route, taking responsibility for the errors they might commit and the damage that may result to either themselves, their bikes, or other participants.
All competitors shall abide by the right side of the road in case they are delayed and caught up with by other competitors. Non-compliance will lead to disqualification.

Races

Open Category/Men: Players of government clubs, national teams, players of private clubs and teams who participate in the federation competitions, individual players participating in official competitions qualifying for the World Championship (Grand Fundo), residents, and GCC nationals are allowed to participate in this category.
Open Category/Women: Female players from government clubs, national teams, female players of private clubs and teams who participate in the federation competitions, female players participating in official competitions qualifying for the World Championship (Grand Fundo), female residents, and female GCC nationals are allowed to participate in this category.
Amateurs/UAE National Men: It is allowed for all male UAE nationalities who are not mentioned in paragraph (1) above to participate in this category.
Amateurs/UAE National Women: It is allowed for all female UAE nationalities who are not mentioned in paragraph (2) above to participate in this category.
Senior / Men: It is allowed for seniors (UAE nationality and residents) aged 55 years old and above (Born in 1970 and below) to participate.
Senior / Women: It is allowed for seniors (UAE nationality and residents) aged 50 years old and above (Born in 1974 and below) to participate.
People of Determination Category: The citizens and residents of People of determination shall be allowed to participate using the following bicycles:
- A. Road Bicycles - C Category: Normal bikes that can be used by People of Determination.
- B. Hand Bicycles - H Category: Bikes that are used only by hand.
- C. Blind – T & B Category: Twin bikes that are used by the blind.

Location and Timing of the Races:

The Cycling Competition shall be held as follows:

Participants shall be at the Village Race (Exit Meydan Road Toward Medan Hotel) by 9:00 p.m. as all the roads leading to the starting point shall be closed after this time.

Results and Awards:

The winning competitor shall be the one who crosses the finish line first and no violation is registered against him/her.
The first three players shall be awarded (gold, silver, and bronze) medals in all categories.
Cash prizes (in AED) shall be awarded to the winners.

Registration:

Registration opens from 17/01/2025 to 9/03/2025.
All Participants must bring their original Emirates ID (for Expats the residence VISA must be valid) and submit it to the organizing committee.

The participation’s number shall be delivered in Dubai Bike (DXBIKE) as follows table:

Participants shall not be allowed to change the category of the race after the deadline.
All participants shall sign a statement on health and physical fitness and shall agree to the conditions of participation and respect the regulations of the Competition.

Complaints:

Complaints shall be submitted in writing to the Chairman of the Referees Committee no later than 15 minutes after the end of the race and according to the prescribed form.
Complaints shall not be accepted unless they are presented with an amount of AED (300) which shall be refunded in case of acceptance of the Complaint and shall be submitted to the Organizing Committee in case of rejection.
The Technical Committee alone shall be entitled to interpret and explain the regulations and laws and take the appropriate decisions, and in all cases, these decisions shall be final.
