Fencing Championship

General Terms:

• 1. The Fencing Competition will be held from 12 – 14 /3/2024.
• 2. The technical meeting and the decision on the eligibility of players shall be held on Monday 11/3/2024.
• 3. All citizens, residents as well as local and international players from inside and outside the UAE will be allowed to participate in the Competition.
• 4. Participating player shall be medically fit on his/her own responsibility, along with his/her signature on the personal declaration to that effect.
• 5. The Technical Committee of the Competition may take all decisions and actions that will regulate the Competition according to the desired way, including amendments to the fencing schedule.

Special Terms:

• 1. Each participant shall be committed to participate only in the category he\she is registered in.
• 2. The player shall undertake to bring his/her equipment in accordance with the International Fencing Federation specifications (clothing, mask, swords, and shoes).
• 3. The swords and equipment shall be checked on Monday 11/3/2024. It will be valid for 3 days of the competition. Timing will be announced during the Technical Meeting.
• 4. The “Latest Version” of the International Fencing Federation Law shall be applied in refereeing and management of all the Competition matches, except as stated in this provision of the regulation.

Competition categories:

Epée for Senior Men International.

Foil for Senior Men International.

Sabre for Senior Men International.

Epée for Senior Women Local

Format of the Competition:

• The FIE competition system applies.
  • - All players are ranked according to the classification of the International Fencing Federation.
  • - Followed by players from within the country who do not have an international classification, so they are classified according to the local classification of the UAE.
  • - The rules of competitions approved by the International Fencing Federation (latest version).
  • - A match will be held to determine the third and fourth places.

Location and Timing of the competition:

• 1. The Competition will host at Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
• 2. The Technical Committee shall determine the schedule of competitions according to the participants’ number, who shall be notified during the technical meeting preceding the Competition.
• 3. All players should be in the CALL room at least (45) Minutes before the competition starts to check all fencing items (Identifications, Cloths, and the medical checkup),

Results and Awards:

• 1. The top three players awarded medals (gold, silver and bronze) for all categories.
• 2. Cash prizes are awarded for the first three places for each category.

Registration:

• 1. Registration opens on 1/02/2024 to 8/03/2024.
• 2. Local Competition: All participants shall bring the original Emirati ID Card for UAE
• 3. International Competition: All participants shall bring the original Emirati ID Card for UAE citizens and residents. For participants from outside the State need to bring original passport.
• 4. Participants shall not be allowed to change the category of the contest after the deadline.
• 5. All participants shall sign a statement of health and physical fitness and shall agree to the conditions of participation and respect to the regulations of the Competition.

Complaints:

• 1. Complaints of the result or wrong application of the law shall be during the game or action in the time of the offense by the player only.
• 2. Complaints shall not be accepted unless they are presented with an amount of AED (500) which shall be refunded in case of acceptance of the Complaint and shall be submitted to the Organizing Committee in case of rejection.
• 3. The Technical Committee alone shall be entitled to interpret and explain the regulations and laws and take the appropriate decisions, and in all cases, these decisions shall be final.
