General Terms:
  • The Prequalifying matches for the Padel Competition shall be held at the end of April, and the knockout contest shall be held in Ramadan during the period from 28/05/2017 to 14/06/2017.
  • All citizens and residents of players shall be allowed to participate according to the categories described below.
  • Top 100 players in WPT shall not be allowed to participate in this Competition.
  • The participant player shall be medically fit on his/her own responsibility.
  • The Technical Committee of the Competition may take all decisions and actions that will regulate the Competition according to the desired way, including amendments to the matches’ schedule.
Special Terms:
  • The match is the best of 3 sets, with tie-break at 6-6 in games, unless stated by the tournament organizers.
  • The Competition will be a knockout format.
  • All players shall be committed to attend the qualifying for the Competition, which shall be held at the end of April and beginning of May.
  • Commitment to wearing appropriate footwear during the competition.
Competition Categories:
  • Open Category/Men: All citizens and residents shall be allowed to participate in this category, with residency VISA of 6 months minimum.
  • Category of Citizens/UAE Nationals Men: Only UAE Nationals Male shall be allowed to participate in this category.
  • Category of Teams: All citizens and residents with residency VISA of 6 months minimum, with the exception of one player shall be allowed to participate in this category, provided that the team consists of 5 players.
Competition System:
  • Open Category/Men:
    • The qualifying phase will be a knockout format, with eight pairs that qualify to the main draw, held during Ramadan.
    • The Main Draw will be two groups of four pairs, with the top two in each group qualifying for the semi-finals, which will then be a knockout competition.
  • Category of Citizens/UAE Nationals Men:
    • Qualifying: In case the number of participants is above 8, qualifying will be held, with knockout format, to select the top 8 pairs.
    • Main Draw: The competition will be a knockout format.
  • Category of Teams:
    • Up to 16 teams shall be registered in this competition, each team consists of 5 players.
    • The competition of which shall be a knockout format.
    • Each tie will be the first to 2 matches, so the first team to win 2 matches wins. The first 2 matches are best of 3 sets, with 10 point tie-break for the 3rd set. The 3rd match is a full 3 set match.
    • If the game is 1-1 in matches, the 3rd match must be played by a pair that has not played together in the first 2 matches (the 5th player can be used if the captain chooses).
Location and Timing of the competition:
  • The matches shall be held in the Padel Arena in Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
  • The competition in Ramadan shall be announced in a detailed schedule.
  • The players shall be responsible for checking the date and timing of their games through the website and publications in Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
  • The players shall register 15 minutes before the game begins, if the player is 15 minutes late or more, the match will be considered forfeit and the player will lose.
Results and Awards:
  • The first three players shall be awarded (gold, silver, and bronze) medals in all categories.
  • Cash prizes shall be awarded to the top three places in each category.
Registration:
  • Registration opens on 02/04/2017 to 25/05/2017.
  • All participants shall bring original Emirates ID Card, and for residents shall bring passport and residence cards, provided their residence period is at least six months from the date of closure of the registration period.
  • Participants shall not be allowed to change the category of the competition after the deadline.
  • All participants shall sign a statement of health and physical fitness and shall agree to the conditions of participation and respect to the regulations of the Competition.

Complaints:
  • Complaints shall be submitted in written to the Chairman of the Referees Committee no later than 15 minutes after the end of the match and according to the prescribed form.
  • Complaints shall not be accepted unless they are presented with an amount of AED (300) which shall be refunded in case of acceptance of the Complaint, and shall be submitted to the Organizing Committee in case of rejection.
  • The Technical Committee alone shall be entitled to interpret and explain the regulations and laws and take the appropriate decisions, and in all cases, these decisions shall be final.
