10 KM and 5 KM Running Regulation

Part of Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament (NAS) 2017

General Terms:
  • The 10 KM and 5 KM Running Race shall be held on on Saturday, 03/06/2017.
  • All the citizens and residents as well as local and international players from inside and outside the State shall be allowed to participate in the categories specified below.
  • The participant shall be medically fit on his/her own responsibility, along with his/her signature on the personal declaration to that effect.
  • Reference shall be made to regulations of the UAE Athletics Federation in organizing this competition in exception with what is included herein.
Special Terms:
  • Each participant shall be committed to participate only in the category s/he is registered in.
  • Commitment to having clear chest and back numbers.
  • Commitment to wearing appropriate running shoe during the competition.
The 10 KM Categories:
  • Internationals/Men: All professional players from outside the State shall be allowed to participate in this category.
  • Internationals/Women: All professional female players from outside the State shall be allowed to participate in this category.
  • Professionals/ UAE Nationals: All clubs players and players of the teams of Armed Forces and the Police shall be allowed to participate in this category.
  • Open Category/Men: All UAE Nationals and residents shall be allowed to participate in this category except for those mentioned above in categories (1 and 3).
  • Open Category/Women: All UAE Nationals and residents shall be allowed to participate in this category except for those mentioned in category (2) above.
The 5 KM Categories:
  • Open Category/Men: UAE Nationals and residents, excluding clubs players and players of the teams of Armed Forces and the Police, shall be allowed to participate in this category.
  • Open Category/Women: UAE Nationals and residents shall be allowed to participate in this category.
Location and Timing of the Races:
  • The 10 KM Race begins promptly at 10:00 p.m. in front of Falcon Heritage and Sports Centre entrance and the end of the race shall be in Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
  • The 5 KM Race begins promptly at 10:30 p.m. in front of Falcon Heritage and Sports Centre entrance and the end of the race shall be in Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
  • The race shall begin in the form of groups with an interval of two minutes at maximum.
  • Participants shall be in the start point by 9:30 p.m. as all the roads leading to the starting point shall be closed after this time.
Results and Awards:
  • The winning racer shall be the one who crosses the finish line first and no violation is registered against him/her.
  • The first three players shall be awarded (gold, silver, and bronze) medals in all categories.
  • Cash prizes shall be awarded to the winners.
Registration:
  • 1. Registration opens on 02/04/2017 to 23/05/2017.
  • All participants shall bring original Emirates ID Card, and for residents shall bring passport and residence cards, provided their residence period is at least six months from the date of closure of the registration period, and upon receipt of the chest and chip numbers for the race.
  • The chest and chip numbers shall be delivered in the Falcon Heritage and Sports Centre from 31/05 to 02/06/2017 from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m., noting that they shall not be delivered on the race day.
  • Participants shall not be allowed to change the category of the race after the deadline.
  • All participants shall sign a statement of health and physical fitness and shall agree to the conditions of participation and respect to the regulations of the Competition.

Complaints:
  • Complaints shall be submitted in written to the Chairman of the Referees Committee no later than 15 minutes after the end of the race and according to the prescribed form.
  • Complaints shall not be accepted unless they are presented with an amount of AED (300) which shall be refunded in case of acceptance of the Complaint, and shall be submitted to the Organizing Committee in case of rejection.
  • The Technical Committee alone shall be entitled to interpret and explain the regulations and laws and take the appropriate decisions, and in all cases, these decisions shall be final.
