10 KM and 5 KM Running Regulation

Part of Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament (NAS) 2020

General Terms:
  • The 10 KM and 5 KM Running Race shall be held on Saturday, 1/05/2020.
  • All the citizens and residents as well as local players from inside the State shall be allowed to participate in the categories specified below.
  • The participant shall be medically fit on his/her own responsibility, along with his/her signature on the personal declaration to that effect.
  • Participation in the running championship is considered an individual participation and it is prohibited to publicize the names of institutions or any other parties at the awarding ceremony.
  • Reference shall be made to regulations of the UAE Athletics Federation in organizing this competition in exception with what is included herein.
Special Terms:
  • Each participant shall be committed to participate only in the category s/he is registered in.
  • Commitment to having clear chest and back numbers.
  • Commitment to wearing appropriate running shoe during the competition.
  • Participants in the 5 km race should be at the age of 15 years and over (born on 31st/12/2005 or below)
  • Participants in the 10km race should be at the age of 17 years and over (born on 31st/12/2003 or below).
  • Participants at the age 17 years old or less must submit a written notification of the guardian’s approval.
The 10 KM Categories:
  • Open Category/Men. The following shall be allowed to participate in this category:
    • - Armed Forces, Police, National Teams and Club Players.
    • - Armed Forces, Police, Federations and Clubs Trainers and Coaches.
    • - Amateurs.
  • Open Category/Women. The following shall be allowed to participate in this category:
    • - Armed Forces, Police, National Teams and Club Players.
    • - Armed Forces, Police, Federations and Clubs Trainers and Coaches.
    • - Amateurs.
The 5 KM Categories:
  • Amateurs/ UAE National Men: Amateur UAE Nationalities excluding National Teams, Clubs, Police and Armed Forces Players.
  • Amateurs/ UAE National Women: Amateur UAE Nationalities excluding National Teams, Clubs, Police and Armed Forces Players.
  • Open Category/Men: Amateur residents excluding Clubs, Police and Armed Forces Players and Coaches.
  • Open Category/Women: Amateur residents excluding Clubs, Police and Armed Forces Players and Coaches.
Location and Timing of the Races:
  • The 10 KM Race begins at 10:00 p.m. and the 5 KM Race begins promptly at 10:30 p.m.
  • The start of the race and the finish shall be from Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.
  • The race shall begin in the form of groups with an interval of two minutes at maximum.
  • Participants shall be in the start point by 9:30 p.m. as all the roads leading to the starting point shall be closed after this time.
Results and Awards:
  • The winning racer shall be the one who crosses the finish line first and no violation is registered against him/her.
  • The first three players shall be awarded (gold, silver, and bronze) medals in all categories.
  • Cash prizes shall be awarded to the winners.
Registration:
  • Registration opens from 5/03/20 20to 25/04/2020.
  • All Participants must bring their original Emirates ID (for Expats the residence VISA must have been issued before 1/1/2020) upon receipt of the chest and chip numbers for the race.
  • The chest and chip numbers shall be delivered in the Dubai Bike (DXBIKE) from 27 - 29/04/2020 from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m., noting that they shall not be delivered on the race day.
  • Participants shall not be allowed to change the category of the race after the deadline.
  • All participants shall sign a statement of health and physical fitness and shall agree to the conditions of participation and respect to the regulations of the Competition.

Complaints:
  • Complaints shall be submitted in written to the Chairman of the Referees Committee no later than 15 minutes after the end of the race and according to the prescribed form.
  • Complaints shall not be accepted unless they are presented with an amount of AED (300) which shall be refunded in case of acceptance of the Complaint, and shall be submitted to the Organizing Committee in case of rejection.
  • The Technical Committee alone shall be entitled to interpret and explain the regulations and laws and take the appropriate decisions, and in all cases, these decisions shall be final.
