10 KM and 5 KM Running Regulation
Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament (NAS) 2026
General Terms:
- The 10 KM and 5 KM Running Races shall be held on Friday 27/02/2026.
- All citizens and residents inside the UAE, and citizens of GCC countries, are allowed to participate in the categories specified below.
- The participant shall be medically fit at his/her own responsibility. Registration is considered a personal declaration to that effect and the participant shall respect the competition regulations.
- Participation in the running championship is considered individual participation, and it is prohibited to publicize the names of institutions or any other parties at the awarding ceremony.
- Participants aged 17 years old and below must submit parental approval.
- Reference shall be made to the regulations of the UAE Athletics Federation in organizing this competition, except what is included herein.

Each participant must commit to participate within the category in which he/she is registered, as follows:
Categories Races Age Adult 10 KM Race 16 years old and above (Born in 2010 and below) Adult 5 KM Race 15 years old and above (Born in 2011 and below) Senior 5 KM Race Men 50 years old and above (Born in 1976 and below) Senior 5 KM Race Women 48 years old and above (Born in 1978 and below) Youth 5 KM Race 14 years old and below (Born in 2012 and above) - Commitment to having clear chest numbers.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate running shoes during the competition.
The 10 KM Categories:
- Open Category / Men: Participation is allowed for all men of the community, including citizens, residents, and GCC nationals.
- Open Category / Women: Participation is allowed for all women of the community, including citizens, residents, and GCC nationals.
The 5 KM Categories:
- Emirati / Male Category: Only Emirati nationals are allowed to participate.
- Emirati / Female Category: Only Emirati women are allowed to participate.
- Open Category / Men: Residents and GCC nationals are allowed to participate.
- Open Category / Women: Female residents and GCC nationals are allowed to participate.
- Senior / Men: UAE nationals and residents aged 50+ (Born in 1976 and below).
- Senior / Women: UAE nationals and residents aged 48+ (Born in 1978 and below).

The Youngsters 5 KM Race Categories:
- Open Category / Junior - Boys: UAE nationals & residents aged 14 and below (Born in 2012 and above).
- Open Category / Junior - Girls: UAE nationals & residents aged 14 and below (Born in 2012 and above).
Location and Timing of the Races:
- The 5 KM Race will start at 10:00 p.m., and the 10 KM Race at 10:45 p.m.
- The race will be organized at Meydan Racecourse.
- The race shall begin in the form of groups with interval timing.
- Participants must be at the starting point by 9:15 p.m., as all roads leading to the start will be closed after this time.
Results and Awards:
- The winning racer is the one who crosses the finish line first and has no registered violations.
- The first three players shall be awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals in all categories.
- Cash prizes (in AED) shall be awarded to the winners.
Registration:
- Registration opens from 8/12/2025 to 20/02/2026.
- All participants must present the QR code and bring their original Emirates ID (for expats, the residence visa must be valid) and submit it to the organizing committee.

Chest and chip numbers will be delivered at Dubai Bike (DXBIKE) as follows (NOT on race day):

Complaints:
- Complaints must be submitted in writing to the Chairman of the Referees Committee within 15 minutes after the end of the race, according to the prescribed form.
- AED 300 must be submitted with the complaint. It will be refunded if accepted; otherwise, it will be submitted to the Organizing Committee.
- The Technical Committee alone may interpret and explain regulations and take decisions. All decisions are final.
